I have just been reminded by IKS, the fiercest Klingon in the community and former site manager, that this weekend STLFiles has been online for 3 years. So a birthday party would be appropriate I guess:



Three years - That's a pretty long period of time....during these three years more than 40 Terabytes of data have been downloaded from this site and more than 1100 files have been added to our archive. These files have been downloaded more than 800.000 times and occupy a space of almost 10 gigabytes of our servers. This is a really great achievement considering that Star Trek Games are not the most popular ones out there compared to other games and all the other crap that happened during these years. Beginning with the unfortunate release of Legacy and ending with Filefront being abandoned by Ziff Davis.

Furthermore I want to use this occasion to say thanks to a few people. Thanks to every single modder who uploaded his or her mod, thanks to Brian and all other site managers who ran this site even in difficult times, thanks to the new owners of Filefront who preserved this community from collapsing, thanks to my fellow staff members and every former staff member of the site for supporting me and the community and thanks to all the people who visit this site and download the mods here.

And now let's stop with the talking and enjoy a beer and prepare for the next three years to come. Beer! Beer! Cheers!

Only a couple more years and the site will officially enter into adult age big grin
