  Heroes and Legends Mod - Mod Development

Hello all.
A new large-scale project, believed to be the first to be undertaken in the Legacy Community, called Heroes and Legends is currently being developed . Heroes and Legends (HaL) is a large, all-encompasing modification for Star Trek Legacy. It is still in the initial stages of development, but the HaL Team led by Rogue Vulcan have reported to be making good progress.

The following is the full description provided by Rogue Vulcan.

We plan on adding new ships, new weapon types, new maps, and many other features.

As long-time Star Trek fans, we want to see Legacy become a game that truly embodies the feel of Star Trek starship combat. We want players to feel dread at the site of a Borg Cube, to laugh tauntingly when their light cruiser destroys another player's Galaxy class starship, and to feel proud to have commanded their fleet to victory with skill and bravery. To that end, we are painstakingly researching all aspects of canon Star Trek combat, from ship specifications, to weapon mounts, to power outputs. All apects of a starship that can affect combat are being examined and implemented in the the best ways we can. We hope you enjoy playing the mod as much as we have enjoyed creating it.

FEATURES:

New ships -
We have already added several ships to the ENG era Federation fleet, simply by duplicating existing models, and upgrading their stats to fit in with the TNG era. For instance, there is now a proper TNG era Excelsior class, Miranda class, and Centaur class. This same feature will no doubt be used on some ships of the other races too.

New Maps -
We plan to include many new maps that will add to the depth of strategy and tactics of combat.

Realistic weapons -
Does four forward torpedoes just feel like too few? We think so too. We have implemented a modified HUD to allow for far more torpedoes to be fired, without clogging up your view of the battle. Also, the way the torpedoes behave and affect shields has been altered. Stay tuned for other added or improved features as the mod progresses!

This sounds promising.. I hope wish them all the best with this modification, it sounds like it's going to be the first of many special modifications for Legacy

Rock Looking forward to this one already! Work on making enemy ships selectable in skirmish mode please too, that would be a huge move forward big grin

Once again the playing community come to the aid of the developers and correct their mistakes.

Well done for undertaking this task and I look forward to watching HaL grow and to playing when it is eventually released.

Sounds like a great improvement already just from the short snippets of info above!

sweet lookin foward to this 1 and could u tweek the torpedo load times cuz something tells me it doesnt truely take a mintue to reload 2 torps on the ent-d.

I swear, Mad Doc is just letting the community do the work that Bethesda paid THEM to do...

Anyways, this sounds like a promising mod. Hope it turns this clunky, ported mess into something playable. *goes off to play Encounters, which is WAY better, at the moment*
