About the Legacy Files Site |

Legacy Files was made in response to the new game by Mad Doc and Bethesda, “Star Trek: Legacy”. The “sexy squad shooter” was designed to bring about a new type of Star Trek gaming and already lined up to be the best Star Trek game out to play. With the prospect of modding it, similar to that of Armada 2 (a Mad Doc and Activision release), Legacy Files was constructed to host new mods, including ships from all eras, stations to dock and repair your ships in, new textures for planets to make them look that bit better and to fine-tune those ships that needed a tweak or a bit of a kick to make them more potent.
A team of 3 volunteered to work on the site for release. Joelteon7 worked as a file and news poster on Armada 2 Files before becoming Site Admin there and later taking on both posts as admin for both Legacy and Armada 2 Files. Starforce2, a skilled modder for Bridge Commander has been Site Admin for BC Files for many years and has maintained it and still had time to release great mods. IKS Yo Mama has been around the network as a files and news poster and has settled in Legacy Files to do just that. At the end of January, '07, the extensive amount of mods required a new member of staff to be added to the task force, bringing Major Payne into the fray, a big-time Armada modder and general community-know-it. Together, their aim is to maintain and upgrade Legacy Files to make it the best site on the entire internet to get information and mods for Star Trek: Legacy.
Set-up in the second half of 2006, Legacy Files is one of the first sites created designed specifically around Star Trek: Legacy and specifically before its release, due in the Fall. After a large amount of pushing for it, the site was given the go ahead in the summer of 2006 before being given a crash course on getting it set-up. The design was conceived by FileTrekker however, as he left, the design was in-complete and Jos Jongejan (Pro-Filer), head of the network, finished it off to what you see today.
Due to the hard work of many across the network, Legacy Files bides its time till the mods flow from the community and the site bolsters in activity, though with the prospect of pulling in people from 3 already hosted communities (Armada 2, Bridge Commander and Starfleet Command 3) and then more from outside, Legacy Files has the potential to be one of the biggest sites on the FileFront Network.
It's been half a year since the site kicked off and a month since the mods have come in. Legacy Files bode its time well and has kicked off with a forray of excellent mods, adding much to the original game's content. The ships are coming in at impulse speed, but it won't be long till the goliath mods come in at warp.
...and on 31st March, 2007, it was time to stop off at the Starbase as Joelteon7, the Site Admin, stepped dowm from full staff position on the site, leaving IKS_Yo_Mama in charge, with his capable hands, of the site.
About FileFront Network
FileFront Network is a network of gaming modification and files websites, The people behind the Network currently consists of around 150 gamers just like the people that visit our sites. We have a small group of Network Admins, then each site has 1 or 2 Site Managers and under them are the rest of our staff; File Posters, News Posters, Reviewers, Interviewers, etc.
The real roots of the Network lie at the now way dusty CheatFiles.com. Back in 1998, Pro-Filer, Network Founder, started his first real homepage over at Geocities called "Dexter's Ultimate Cheatzone". A few months later it was renamed to CheatFiles and the first files.com domain name was registered! After finishing the system behind it and adding a ton of cheats, Pro then went on to create Demo-Files.com which is also no longer updated. Then in late 1999, an upcoming game by Raven Software caught Pro's eye; Soldier of Fortune.It was gonna run on the Quake engine meaning there'd be plenty of modding to do. Remembering the frustration of finding a site to his likings where he could get maps, skins, mods etc, he decided to launch the very first Network site, SoFFiles was born. After the great succes of SoFFiles, which remains up to this day the #1 resource for SoF (2) players, things got rolling and DiabloIIFiles and EFFiles saw the light. After the successes of these sites, there was no way back.
The Network became so big that it was bought by FileFront, one of the Network's long time file download mirrors, and with FileFront's help, the now FileFront Network became bigger and better than ever before.

Posts: 8 | The armada 2 site has been the most successful download site I've experienced. I'm thrilled to see a legacy equivilant!! This game will be so awesome and with mods? unforgettable!! Can't wait for the release, does anyone know if theres any difference between the 360 version and the pc version??? |
