	Legacy Files Starship Contest

	This Page has been viewed 2,459 times \|About\| Here we have the final of the 5 Contests for Legacy Files : The Starship Contest. This competition is intended to find who is the best modeler for Legacy, and who ever wins will be crowned the King or Queen of Modelling. \|Requirements\| It cannot be a port. It most definitely has to be a new Model. Even if it is your own model from a different game then it still doesn't qualify. Obviously it has to work in game You may enter previously released models (released for Legacy!), on the grounds that they were not someone else's and you did in fact build them. You may enter with others as a team It does not have to be a Star Trek vessel, it can be Bablyon 5, Stargate, BSG...anything \|Tools you may need\| Modelling Tools Milkshape 3D gmax Blender 2.45 Wings 3D ..there are many others such as 3DS Max, Maya.. Other Tools Check the rest of the competitions for any other vital tools needed for texturing, etc. \|How is the Winner Selected?\| Winning starship will be chosen on several aspects. We will judge both on concept and on aesthetics. Model doesn't have to be a very high poly, high quality model. Once the model is an original design and is implemented well, then it has every chance of winning. By original we mean, it should be something you designed yourself, so for instance if you built your own Galaxy Class from scratch then it still doesn't qualify. Any extra additions such as weapons or sound effects are optional but would increase the chance of winning. The model can be any type of model (it's not Star Trek only), once it is a Starship/space vehicle, it is a Starship Contest afterall. Specs, Bumps, or glows are not entirely mandatory but you should try to include them anyway as it shows good implementation of the model. Damage model or chunks are not requirements and will not play any factor in the decision. Entries will be judged by the Legacy Files Staff, some external staff from other sites may also be consulted if necessary. There is no special preference, anyone can enter and anyone can win. Just like the other contests, we will release your entries in the run up to the closing date and we will release the winner with the title of "Legacy Files Starship Contest Winner" \|Helpful tips\| Focus more on the Concept side, don't over complicate it. Make sure it works in game, if it doesn't work in game and you can't get it to work then please ask someone or consult the forums..there are answers out there, you just have to go and look for them! \|How to Enter\| All entries are to be emailed to brianATstlegacyfilesDOTcom with the title of the email beginning with "Legacy Starship Contest". You must also put your Filefront Username in the email. There is no limit to the amount of submissions you may make, you can do as many as you wish and send in as many as you wish. \|Prize/Award\| The one thing up for grabs is sheer bragging rights for being the winner of the first Legacy Files Starship (Modelling) Contest, which on our table of winners section is the highest honour for anyone to get in these contests so even if you don't win entering the contest will benefit your modding skills. \|Closing Date\| Closing date for the contest is Sunday 30th December. yeah sure. 30th it is so (2 days to examine them means it gets shown on the 1st)
