At the height Of the Federation-Romulan War, the Vulcan High Council secretly stole the plans for the Bird Of Prey captured by Starfleet. By the end of the first year of the war, the Vulcan's had over 150 Bird Of Prey's added to their fleet to help with the war effort. Helping the Federation secure it's victory, the Bird Of Prey's were re-assigned to being long-range scout vessels before being decommissioned in 2192.
They would be used again in the hunt for the Vulcan fugitive, T'Uerell, after being spotted in Klingon Space in a special ops mission carried out by Captain James T. Kirk. All Bird Of Prey's assigned to hunt T'Uerell were found to be destroyed 75 light-years outside what is now known as the Omega sector.
Retexturing ships to appear as ships of another race seems to be one of TJ's specialties. This is the Enterprise Bird of Prey, whose design has been stolen by Starfleet and reused by the Vulcans in the Federation-Romulan war. Even though the background story might not be that convincing, the visual appearance of that ship definitely is. If one did not know how the original ship looked like, he could certainly assume that this is an original Vulcan design.

Posts: 415 | @1: i set up the weapons so the photons shoot first and the pulse weapons fire next once in range. there shouldn't be a problem with locking onto a enemy ship at all. since i changed the base physics so it would be more faster and agile.

Posts: 238 | In fairness, the Vulcan Bird of Prey in Ultimate Universe is a completely new design and model for the Terran Empire universe, so it's different and not really comparable to this.
I like the look of this retexture though, because the colour scheme really makes it look Vulcan, so while it's clearly still being a Romulan Bird of Prey, you believe it could be Vulcan, you know................if they captured one and refitted it with Vulcan parts and that. |

@6 the tech would only be at least 30% the same only because yes the are related, but not in every way you would think. The romulan's are more or less of a military race like the klingons, while the vulcan's pretty much devote themselves to scientific study and life. the main reason why the decided to purge all emotions. |
