Description:
Santa Claus has definitely dropped by Legacy Files and left a present under the tree - Trek Battles 2. It has been on the cards for sometime and what was promised has been delivered. Standing at 540mbs it has certainly got weight to it and substance.

The Interface looks great... It's TMP era feel to it looks funky and a feature that really impressed me was the ship selection menu. When you select a ship it's name is nowhere to be seen but when you mouseover the ship it's name appears as does a ring around the ship that looks like a Cardassian Interface from a panel on DS9! In the miscellaneous race you have the choice to choose from for all you Voyager fans out there - the Maquis Raider, Krenim Timeship, Kazon Raider and the 8472 Bioship along with the Reman Scimitar. There is also an upgrade system which looks fantastic too. It is a Total Conversion in every way possible as everything is modded, including it's very own separate campaign which is independent from the Stock one. big grin

When you select the Campaign mode you'll get a nice surprise - 3 separate Campagins.
The Stock Campaign, the Race Campaigns and the Trek Battles Campaign. In the Trek Battles Campaign you actually have a whole campaign spanning the three Eras to play in. Another little surprise in there is the Race Campaigns, which contains the Historical Missions, Additional Missions and Alternate Missions, so you cannot complain about boredom!

The range of ships is great. From several types of shuttles to the dreadnoughts of War, this really has impressed me. The main bulk of the Trek Battles Fleets are ports, but there are also originals from New Gen as well. With ships from BC, SFC, Armada, Stock Legacy and originals (alot of Tiptop, gdata and yopyop originals are here) it definitely will not disappoint. There are a few nitpicks though, mainly some of the voiceover acting is a bit bland and the game's loading on startup is a bit long but they do not take away from a truly majestic mod!

I could go on and on about this mod but I think if you want to see for yourself you should download it.

1. Description

Hello guys, first of all: MERRY CHRISTMAS! Finally it is here: TREK
BATTLES 2! After months of porting, modeling, scripting and mapping and
weeks of fixing bugs we're proud to present you the new missions, maps,
ships, the new interface and all the other stuff we added! There have
been several new ships added most of them were ported from Bridge
Commander(thanks to Captain Russel, Scotchy, Queball, Chronocidial Guy, and
allt the others), but there are also a few ships from Armada (thanks to
Wrath of Achilles), SFC and completely new ship designs modeled by
TipTop, yopyop, chrisluskey, shadowbuilder and me!
There is a huge diversity of maps that have been added since the first
release (more than 140 new maps and missions!). We were also able to
add new missions with the new scripting tools; most of them are fictional
but there are also a few missions from the movies or series! There is
also a upgrade system, which allowes the user to improve the weaponry,
sensors, shields, engines and hull of a ship! Thanks to tjoz for the
permission to add this really cool feature to the Mod!
New sounds have been made by AnunC8 for the new races! Then we made the
classification system more canon: The scout is now a frigate and there
are new sub-classes, like battlecruiser, torpedocruiser and light
cruiser; The new classes are the armed shuttle, the un-armed shuttle, the
support vessel, the escort vessel and the science ship! Special thanks
to TipTop, who made a whole shuttle fleet for us (THEY ARE ALL SCALED
DOWN TO THE REAL SIZE!!!) and to NCC1717 for the new space dust sprite!
AnunC8 (and tjoz) made a new menu...I hope you like it!!! Now we have
10(!) playable races!!! Okay we had to use "placeholders" with the
Dominion, Vulcan's and the Cardassians and added a few TNG vessels to bulk
up the era's, but we plan to replace them, if we'll release a expansion
pack, addon or new version!
You may wonder what yopyop and I have done...well we put everything
together, made things compatible, ported a bit, made one or two models,
made new maps and made the new effects, like torpedo impacts, ...!

I hope I forgot nobody and if so...sorry guys!

3. Compatability with other mods

Trek Battles is not compatible with other total conversions, like STL:
The Aftermath, the Legendary Generations Mod or Ultimate Universe! If
you need help with putting ships or new maps or whatever you want in
Trek Battles feel free to post on our forum and someone will help you!
Later we might create a tutorial how to add new sprites to Trek Battles or
how to use the new classification system. We will see whether that is
needed!

6. Bugs

If you discover a bug please post in the bug-section on our forum, the
bug will be fixed in the next patch!

7. System Requirements:

Operation System : Windows XP Home, Professional or Media Center
Edition; we tested the mod also on Windows Vista Ultimate, but Multiplayer
will not work with Vista!
Processor : Intel Pentium 4 or higher; AMD Athlon XP 2800+ or higher
DirectX : DirectX 9.0c
RAM : 1024MB
Harddrive space : 6GB (4GB for the stock game and 2GB for the mod)
Graphicscard : DirectX 9.0 compatible, with pixelshader 1.4 and 256MB
RAM; we suggest to get the latest video drivers!

8. Credits:

This pack includes several models sourced from the Bridge Commander,
Armada (2) and SFC communities, credits for all ships, mods and changes,
can be found in the main credits file! We have permission for every
port in this game!

9. Mods for the Mod:

The mod is also intended to be a base to work from. Feel free to
release maps or missions for Trek Battles 2, but if you want to make changes
to the mod you HAVE TO ASK FOR PERMISSION!

10. Trek Battles 3 :

Whether or not we make TB3, there will be several missions released for
the mod which will be playable in the campaign... Whichever (huge)
project we plan to do after TB2 will be secret...but what I can tell you
is: IT WILL BE SOMETHING COMPLETLY NEW, WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN DONE
BEFORE!

Alright, I've been around since the Armada 2 days, Klingon Academy and SFC before that...Heck, we can go all the way back to DOS, with Judgement Rites and A Final Unity if we want...

This is the best Trek game mod I've ever seen, the voiceovers could have been made using ProTools or Sonar or some other pro recording software, but not everyone has access to the best recording gear.

Now, UU is a great mod, but it always crushes my system totally flat, there is just far too much un-needed rendering going on all the time, whereas TB2 never pushes my system nearly that much, and I always have rock-hard framerates no matter what detail I use.

However: My one single gripe about TB2 is this...When I attempt to enter the Trek Battles campaign, only the first ENT Era mission, Shakedown is listed, and every single time I play it, it says mission success with the score listing, but it says mission failed after the mission is over...WTF?!!!!?

When I use the Race Battles, on a HIstorical battle (any), the same exact situation happens. I complete the mission, the game says mission success, but when I hit the after-mission score screen, it says failed, then it won't progress to the next mission...?!

I am going to totally wipe all my STL installs out (TLG, UU, and now TB2, each is a seperate install folder), just to be sure it's not some funky installation issue that should not happen since it doesn't with UU or TLG...

This is a real game-breaking bug, in my view...If we can't use the Trek Battles campaign, then it is a waste of 550~MB...Anyone know about this issue yet?

Hm, guess I should note that I change the damage and scores in config.cfg, so it's a bit easier for me to play...I'll try a clean install and see if it happens again, BBL...

I have totally wiped out all STL files (including using CCleaner), then re-installed, patched to 1.2, then run this mod's setup file...No dice!

Maybe the wrong file was uploaded to STL Files here, or the upload was not complete...I know my download is intact, I've done it five times (thank God for 5MB speeds), and it's a problem with this mod.

For some reason, the missions say success in-game, but as soon as the mission ends, it always says mission failed, and then you can't progress the Trek Battle campaign!!

I've tried everything I can on my end (short of digging into the mod to find out what the heck is going on), so I need some tech. support here...Thanks!

So, it's just the first ENT mission now? That really needs to be in the readme...Or IKS needs to add that to his notes, just so others don't have the reaction I did wink

Heh, still, it's a great mod!

Oh, I found one huge-ass bug: The Wolf 359 mission does NOT work. I launch it, and after the intro scene of the Saratoga flying around, and the Cube plastering the Nebbie into atoms, the game appears to go into the mission, but all I get is a mission failed, and naturally it quits, and I have a blank white square where the Saratoga's icon should be on the HUD...

So, the Wolf 359 mission is bugged for certain.

I'm sure this next one is not bugged: The Defiant one-hit-kills everything during the A Call To Arms mission (Or is that A Time To Stand...I have the entire DVD series sets for TNG, DS9, and VOY, I re-ran the DS9 series about two months ago, and there were so many of those fleet wars that I can't even recall some of the episode names now wink)...The Pulse Phasers are instant death, which sounds like a bug to me...

I have not yet tested the Defiant-Class out asides from the mission, so perhaps the regular ship will not one-hit everything else with the phasers, so I will report back on that...

We also need some DS9-era missions (assuming of course the main TB2 campaign doesn't do the fleet wars), where there were huge fleet wars...Battle of Chin'Toka (both times), and the Cardassia Prime Invasion are obviously two biggies there...

There are some balance issues that need to be dealt with besides the Defiant...At least in my opinion...Drives me nuts when a Galaxy can't deal with 4-6 smaller destroyer-class ships that in the shows would never be able to deal enough damage under any normal circumstances, of course, if those destroyers all fired at the exact same point, at the same instant, they would deal damage, but they would also try to use some techno-jargon prank like matching shield frequencies or something else suitably senseless (phase-cloaking anyone? lol!) before trying to fight a ship so huge as a Galaxy...

The Galaxy-Class (especially the later Venture-Class DW refit) was made to be Starfleet's primary flagship/battleship, while it was not initially designed for the front-line combat role, the class did find itself in battle more times than not, even when a real war wasn't being waged, and very few 'Threat Forces' could beat one...Usually it took overwhelming firepower and/or some cute prank to get through the shielding on those floating damage sponges, before they got blown up wink

Still, great mod, and it's better than UU for more than just the lack of graphics over-lagging...UU over-renders every single thing, and it can't hold a candle to TB2 in terms of mission support and scripting, and TB2 will only get better during the next weeks, whereas I've heard no real news on UU for about 3 weeks now...

The Defiant is only in that certain mission so powerful...
And..sry..for not completing the campaign...it requires a lot of time to create a mission, because you have to test everything...the second also in there, but it is not visible, because we haven't assigned the voice-overs to the script yet...but believe me...A LOT of mission will follow. Thanks for the constructive criticism!

Ok, I ran the 'hard' version and it went fine...Although, it was still far too simple, just ignore anything but the Battlecruisers, then the Keldon's, then it's pure chase-and-kill from there on...wink

FYI: I've been designing my own total conversion for X-Wing Alliance for over 10 years now, and I worked with all the previous iterations of the X-Wing simulator engine, dating back to the original DOS X-Wing back in '93...I am within two weeks of release time, and I *DO* understand completely, how hard it is to make a huge conversion for an existing game...People think it's simple because we're modding someone else's code, but when you do it on such a huge scale that it completely changes just about every single game element, it's a huge piece of digital art to do that.

I'm not a graphics genius, I focus entirely upon code, scripting, mission design, story-writing, web design, and public-relations...Tried graphics but it was just too math-based for my tastes...wink

Anyhow: I stand by this mod being better than UU. UU is for those who think spending $1500 for multiple video boards and CPU's makes them the best, but it's just worthless posturing of their e-peen. Not worth the time it takes to knock them down...

Not like UU doesn't have it's strong points, but they focused completely on graphics, but there were huge gaps in other areas, even the code was buggo at certain times, and for all their graphics stuff, the Breen ships and a few Cardies went totally white whenever they were hit with anything...That is a bug that could have been fixed, as this mod does show, and the fact that we've heard nothing about this for weeks, and seen no patches, that sort-of tells the tale for me right there...

TLG is another mod that is right behind this one in terms of being fun, while remaining as close to canon as possible within the Legacy game engine....TLG again does not focus everything on flashy graphics and no-substance thrills, it's all about balance and expanding on gameplay.

Trust me, I know that gameplay and balance, and having new stories and missions and what-not is the biggest key to mods, and games themselves. Without those elements, the graphics mean NOTHING. Conversely, without the graphics meeting certain standards, the gameplay means little...Fortunately, even the stock graphics meet those standards, and TLG and TB2 improve greatly upon the graphics without crushing powerful PC's that aren't multi-core/multi-GPU...big grin

A testament to what hard word and dedication can do. A great achievement, and very popular 'out of the box'. Any bugs can be addressed in future patches, etc. Take your time and good things will come your way. Again, Great job!

I'm the type of person to take competition seriously, thats all gone now (thank god) so this is an unbias comment, and Chris will know thatcomming from me...its something. I am really impressed, could have been more ships in each race, but thats a Trek Battles 3 thing I assume, good luck guys, keep up to good work.

hey great mod and very god work best mod i have see yet, but theres something missing you know the galaxy x refit (TNG:All Good Things) that was once the picture of the month in legacy files here, you wrote that this ship would be avialble in trek battles 2 , but its not there maybe you forgot it who knows smile but i would really look forward if it were avialble too.

all i have to say is wow, the redone sovereign is awesome as well as all the other ships. skirmish maps are awesome as well. played through the first level shakedown and that was really awesome as well cant wait to see more. one thing i noticed playing shakedown and skirmishes was that all the new ships i have a hard time getting a firing solution when the enemy ship is behind me. am i the only one or is this this something you guys are aware of. love the new interface byt he way it rocks. also can we add sips to it, cause i have a few that i really like that arent in there and i want to make sure i can re add them. anyway 10/10 guys i owe you a Beer! @34: That's one of the Legacy problems. Unfortunatelly I don't know why but some ship have that problem. Also on some computers few ships from our fleet don't want to fight - they're just flying around. The models are made correctly , so are the hardpoints and odf files. It's just a "Legacy curse"

Here are a few things I forgot to mention in the Readme:

- The Menu is optimized for widescreen-resolutions (I run Legacy on 1680*1050px)
- The Menu can be used with a Keyboard, Mouse or XBox 360 Controller!
- The AI has been improved

I havent had Star Trek Legacy installed in a couple months but I read once that the 1.1 and 1.2 updates eliminated the graphic effect of debris from ships when they are damaged from enemy fire, is this true? and is that feature only in version 1.0

yes...if you patch to 1.2 (or 1.1...I am not completly sure) the nacelles will be duplicated when they're blown off...not very nice...

After downloading this, UU and TLG - I have to say that I'm torn between this and UU....
The gameplay in TB2 is perhaps one of the deciding points for me - it is better in TB2 and the ships do seem to be more balanced even though there does seem to be more on offer generally in UU.
One thing that I think would greatly improve this mod would be the inclusion of the option to have skirmish battles with all era's rather than being limited to just enterprise, TOS or TNG... you can do this in UU... also the credits available to purchase ships seems to be capped a bit low for my liking.
I've gotta say though that on the whole - I love this mod - and at the moment it's my fave of all the big mods! I know there's a lot that still needs to be done so keep up the good work!

This may or may not have been mentioned. Forgive me if it has. I noticed when chosing small shuttlecraft or the Delta Flyer, during game play they shake or rotate uncontrollably ...to the point of going blurry. Nothing I do stops it and it won't stop. Also, when chosing the Romulan Shemitar........it never fires at you when your against it in the historical part of the program. You sit there 3 on 1 and it never defends itself. Can this be fixed?

Dude great mod!!!! Puke!ock....... but i get strange frame rate drops when rendering sertain ships... what gives!??? The strange thing about all this is stock legacy runs smother than fresh tuned engin, but put this mod in and my performance act like im running a p3 with 256mgbs ram and a 2d card!!! eek! WTF!!! when it finaly finishes loading what ever it is that it was working on it runns at 65 FPS, but while its loading whatever... it gets sub 1fps it get and ive counted 1 frame ever 3 seconds and it stays that way for about 20 seconds!!! Tthe mission this is most infuiating on is Logical conclusions when your in the middle of battling a borg tactical cube and the game dose a slide show and when it finishes half yr fleet is GONE and yr almost dead!! The ships that seem to give me issues are the Intimidator class soverigen excalibur class vertur class refit galaxy and all the other high powerd battle ships and its only federation ships that do it! In schkermish (sorry i stink at spelling) if i have a 4 ship fleet of anything other than federation nothing happens! Please help!!! This mod would ROCK if it wernt for the fact that it dosent play right!

@#68: This is not the fault of our mod, on some systems Legacy does strange things like that... I had this problem with not firing AI-ships a couple of times myself, but after I bought my new gfx-card, it's all gone...
-> Can't be fixed because it's not the mod.

@#69: Uh, you can't run Legacy smooth on high settings with that gfx-card.
I had a "X1650XT Pro" before and I had the exact same problem, even with Stock-Legacy, sometimes. Lucky me, i just bought a GF 8800GT Sonic

yea...the system requirements have gone up a little bit with the mod, because there are a lot of high poly models in there (Connie, Miranda, 8472 Bioship have more than 20k polies I believe...)

your card is an AGP card? I am not a tech specialist wink But I haven't had any slow-downs even with my 7300GS (without AA)...Maybe you should try to reduce AA to 2x in Legacy if you have it on 4x!

I'm runnin a GeForce 7800 GT PCI card. Not an AGP card..........but it is 256 so I'm wondering if I can overclock it to what it should be without the hiccups in the game or just finally break down and go dual cards or buy a PCI card with 512 instead.

i have the same problem with my version of legacy.
when I firts got the game, it ran very smooth. no lag and very smooth gameplay
now, after i have modded the game it is a lot slower and lags a lot when you look at nebulas

i have a brand new HP AMD 64 computer with an ATI 512 mb video card, it shouldn't lag like this! anybody know how to fix it?

Im not disagreeing with ya, you know your mod better than me (DUH... genious me) but its still in my opinion -with the current settings im using- weird

and all the beauty setting in catalist are turned off, like catalitst a.i. If any of you guys know of an third party addon that will allow me to customize my resolution down to a lower wide screen res it would be appreciated. This mod dose kick some serious butt and cause im looking to upgrade soon- from the specs i gave last time.. any recomendations?? just wondering great mod and thanks for the responce!

something tells me i should switch to this from uu, since this mod accually does stuff.
and is updated frwquently.
also i may voulenteer to do voiceovers for the delta class USS Endurance... im not sure if i can tho because imay not have enough time(send me a text file of what to say, and i am regaining my voice after a cold... )... ps i would like to see some post tng missions in this mod...

Hey guys dont know if this will help any of you out but it worked for me. I've had this kind of problem with another popular Bethesda softworks game. Oblivion tm.
Uninstall everthing -eek! i know- this includes your save files, this wont work (and im not saying it will work for anybody else) if your save files are still present. when the uninstall is done go to Cstick out tonguerogram filesBethesda softworks and delete the legacy folder. now defrag your hard drive -this is just a good idea- and reinstall legacy then immediately install trek battles 2 and the if you have a wide screen monitor select 1600X900 for the resolution and turn the AA down to 1X shadows dont matter.
Now i dont know if this will work for any body else but im still useing the sys specs that i posted last time and my performance went from what i described (comment #69) to slight lag on missions like praksics wars barely noticible and an average fps of 29 wich is more than exceptable for me commpared to my performance before!

I cant stress enough that i dont know if this will work for any body else. but the oblivion file stucture and mod management is very picky about adding graphical mods to an already existing graphics file structure, it gets confused and has to sit and think about which graphics to load then it loads them and runs great until it has to do it again, then it runs bad, loads the correct graphics and runs fine.

Like i said i dont know if this will work for anyone else but it seems to have worked form me. My sys specs havent changed since last time. Dont try this if you dont WANT OR FEEL CONFIDENT IN YOUR ABILITY!!! Two Thumbs Down!

This by no means tutorial worthy yes i'll post it as in news, but a tutorial is just a little over the top for some guy from N.H that has to much free time. I'd be happy to answer any questions regarding performance on any of the games that are listed in my user profile. But all I did was look at the basic similarity's between two games by the same company and then posted a solution that worked for me. Hello, congratualtions for a very interesting MOD. I have played the ENT era of SP and now I am in the TOS era. nd I have found a first thing that does not suite me well. The Constitution class handles like a fighter. It is totaly unrealistic for such a hge ship to turn so fast like this. And also the TMP phasers look really strange. They are too thick.

I've had that problem before...and the only way ive been able to fix it is well...Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that is a serious problem that can only be solved by completely removing your copy of legacy and then reinstalling it fresh. Unless I'm wrong this is a file finding problem that legacy has after being modded (sometimes) and the program that tells legacy what files to load it what order ether has become corrupted or a line of code isn't put in place or it doesn't load a texture and legacy freaks. For a more specialized answer I would need to know if it dose it immediately at startup before the intro movies even play or after you try to load a ship or map. Ether way you'll ether have to reinstall the mod or completely uninstall the whole program deleting the root directory and then reinstall every thing. Sorry to be so down about this but its a fact that i haven't ever been able to fix in any other manner. If any other person knows more please speak up.

The way I make my game run smooth as butter, is simply remove the nebulas. Fixes the sound, the graphics, the weapons all of it. When fighting in the nebula's have you ever had the torpedo just fly off at nothing? Even when you have a solid lock? Its like its trying to hit the nebula...

Anyway, the Nebula's are ugly to begin with stick out tongue so its no great loss. Anyway, great mod. Love it 10/10... can't download it or anything over 100 megs cause I'm a pitiful dial-upper (the jerks where I live haven't got cable out here yet - poducnks V_V) so I'll never get to play it. Still looks sweet though ^^

I don`t know if it is a bug, but I can`t even start the Game when the mod ist installed. I always get an access violation.

I have also installed the 1.2 Patch, and UU-Mod, and tryed to install TB V.1, but it never works. What could be the Problem?

You should be asking that kind of Q on the forum. But all You have to do is:
1.Install the game
2.Patch
3.TB 2

Did that many times with betas and the final mod. Always worked. ( Before You install the game check if You deleted the old folder )

Naw don't worry about it, people have been rating things on this site needlessly low since it was started. Legacy is glitchy/laggy/evil from the start and most people make themselves feel better by blaming the modders despite the fact that its in the rules that you download things at your own risk.

I would have to disagree with that Grig. The voting on Legacy Files was fair and above board until september this year, when the ratings started to become negative. Around the same time a disputed PotD caused ructions in another community... "put 2 and 2 together and you will get 4"

#46 - I did my own voice overs for my ship the NX-71 Jazmin to replace Archer. I re-recorded all the lines of script myself so when you use the Jazmin (named after my blind neice in honor of her) you hear my voice instead of Bakula's.

I would love the opportunity to do voice overs for your team.

I will shortly, I have had to do some re-work on it because it was initially an addon for UUMod, but Trek Battles 2 didn't like it (textures and odf stuff changed) so I have been working on "porting" it over to Trek Battles 2 as well as a special surprise for everyone.

I'm tweaking the AI in the game to be more aggressive and more human like, as well as making things more cannon.

I'm about 85% complete.

vista home premium and i added it to what i thought was a clean install. but, i think my problem came from going with the original location that may be buggy from trying the ultimate dominion mod once. i'm now going with a TBII location and i'll see what happens from there.

My game has locked up twice now. Each time was when I engaged the bioship in battle. And I mean locked up to where I can't even esc out. Had to kill the power both times.

wtf? Sorry...I tested both the Bioship and the Intimidator for more than an hour (!) and have not experienced any problems. Sounds like it has to do with Vista. I will ask yopyop whether he has the same problem with Vista Ultimate!

Hey all just a quick question. In the trek battles two campaign menu where it says stock missions... I know you can only play the ones you've already played but since my fam are all startrek nuts I thought it'd be cool to hook my computer to the TV out in the living room and play through the missions and sorat do a movie kinda thing only thing is is that the stock missions only go up to (listed any ways... they in-fact go to the start of tng era though it isn't in the list its in the noware of the menu) tos era and since i didn't want to get ridd of my campaign saves and the fam didn't want to sit thought every mission I couldn't do it. Not to mention that I;d love to be able to go back and continue doing The Mission "Generals" which is my personal fav... over and over again but no dice cause its not listed. This has no afect what so ever on my rateing of this mod I was just wondering if ya new about it and if so how I could add a scrolling feature to that menu.

If not try to uninstall the game , DELETE the leftovers , install the game , patches and TB2.

Not all the missions end, you have to press escape.

As for skirmish it should end, there must be a cloaked ship.

Hey all just a question cause I haven't been able to figure out how. Would it be possible to replace the stock enterprise-e with the intimidator refit model? I always thought it stunk that kirk didn't even blow up the original enterprise and he got a refit the when he toasted that refit he got a hole new ship!!! Picard got short changed he wasn't even the one that got the enterprise destroyed! Yes he did get a new ship but after ramming the scimitar he just gets his original ship rebuilt!!! mad I know im probably being a little crazy about this but I still think it'd look cool.

It didnt replace the ship model in the cinematic but it isnt a big deal all i wanted was to use your intimidator model in place of the stock (unfair) enterprise... so mission accomplished! Tanks again Two Thumbs Up!

After a little fiddling with the odf file now that i knew what to look for i found that in order to replace the stock enterprise cinematic with the intimidator model you need th replace the line " #include "F_Sovereign.odf" " with " #include "F_Intimidator.odf" " including the quotations around the odf file designations. see ya'll around the forums

Hey all. I was wondering if some of the TMP period missions for tb2 could consist of the ever elusive enterprise B aka NCC 1701-B cause seeing it once in Generations was just mean. Just it seems to me that the New Gen Mod Team are the best possable Mod team to make missions based on the least know about enterprise. just a thought. the dominion wars maps rocked and waiting egerly for the newest updates.

hey guys is there anyway to put the ships from tb2 to uu. i love tb2 and uu but the starships selection is a little lacking and the ships dont look real Cry and whenever i try to grab the ships odf files and the relating texture and m3d files i get a unhandeled exception so i gave up and figured id ask the experts. the one ship that annoys me is the defiant. but if it isnt possable (or legal) ok just asking and i also want to put the spacestations from uu in tb2. but anyways dont mean to insult anyone. see ya Beer! If you don't release it it is okay! Make sure you grab every odf file (physics, weapons, upgrades!!!). But a new defiant model will be released soon wink - so if you can wait a few days or a week you won't have to do it yourself!

I will release it when I get time for doing it. It's a lot of work to prepare the model for Legacy, because the mesh from BC has a few "holes" you see only in Legacy and not in BC!

Just the odf file??? don't i need the textures and stuff like that? and i my opinion you should take as long as you want for the Galaxy-x, it the last supposed incarnation of the enterprise galaxy model so people will be touchy about it. and would it be possible to use the upgrade window to change the base galaxy to the venture and then to the galaxy-x there by eliminating the need to spend more than a fair amount for the new ship and a less cluttered ship browser, lets say you've upgraded everything and then it gives you (depending on the time period) the option to upgrade to the next ship development stage??? as always tenten just for the quality of the support and question answering. love this mod lol ermm was playing against the scimitar the other day it never fires a shot which is strange plus it needs a few more photon torpedo tubes the torpedoes are more green than blue/white and it has no phasers ate it wings that needs 2 be sorted out over all fantastic Rock

it won't..you can try to modfiy the odf if you do not want to play online, but I don't think it will solve the problem, since it's working on my computer, but not on yours!

Whenever I try the mission "Shakedown Cruise" I complete the mission but it always says the I have failed. I've reinstalled several times. I even downloaded it again to see if the original one was messed up.

This may be a small thing, but the Imperial Sovereign still says 'USS' not the 'ISS' it should (in my game, at least). And how come there are many ship names with a bunch of // blocking most of them off?

I'm loving this mod allot because I don't seem to be having any more lags,especially during combat.But like one minute into dogfighting in skurmish and my mouse pointer(curser) disappears,I have no way to repair ships or make use of the grid map after that.Does any one know why this is happening?It's frustrating for me because after all this time of me putting up with all the lags,I finaly end up with something to eliminate it and another problem pops up.What's goin on.

first of all sorry for the double post yah,in any other given instances I probably would just not even bother posting this but a thought accured to me that maybe what if somebody else might have this kind of problem when after installing this mod(this might help a bit).As strange as it may sound this should not have worked but I tried it out anyways and what do you know, it fixed the problem! Normaly theres an order in which your supposed to install mods like this one when being acompanied by official patches and other sorts. But for some reason when I applied this order with this mod and the official patch 1.2,well I get that error in the above post.Try installing Trek Battle 2 first then the official patch,that should solve that nasty error.

I must say,this mod is freakin awesome!! Although the UU mod has allot of good features this mod dont have....this mod does have one feature that I have to admit sort of out-weighs allot of the goodies from UUM,and thats the ability to reduce the amount of game lags significantly!I mean what good is it if the over-all game graphics are excellent,you have awesome space battles and all,but your ships are all moving in slow motion most of the time.In the long run that sort of takes all the fun away. I hope the developers who read this post can take my point of view into consideration when creating the next Legacy project.Great job nEw geN tEaM....I'd buy you all a case beer if I could(for developing this mod which in turn solved my lagging problem) Anyways this one for all of you Beer! Im bound to one little thing to say...

After som e gameplay of this mod I find the battles to amazingly fun! I mean true fun as in I love flying and blowing the other guys up... just the combat is GREAT! One litle thing though... it feels kinda 2D and looks a tad bit cartoonish.. but thats me, I just want to say Great work! stick out tongue

No.193, individual ships MIGHT work, but thats it.

hi

if i run Trek Battles 2 it shows after few seconds this error:

EXCEPTION: ACCESS VIOLATION Aaargh!!!

i have installed Trek Battles 2 into my Star Trek Legacy directory and run it.
but each program start it shows this error

what can i do to solve this problem? confused

Hi. I just DL'd this today and I clicked on Campaign and I get no options, it automatically goes to Enterprise's first mission (the one where you're basically learning how to play the game.) Is this normal?

I'm gonna give TB2 another try. I deleted it a couple months ago cause all it would do was crash during startup and I figured what's the point of having it if it won't work. So, wish me luck.

sorry, guys, but if it's not working its most likely your own fault since it worked for many people before and the download hasn't changed since last Christmas. As IKS said you should check that forum thread.

quick dumb question... were you trying to load a save file from BEFORE you installed the mod? if yes then in all likelihood it wont work. If no the read the exception fix tutorial. If that doesn't work then uninstall all legacy go to the folder it was in (example XP- "cstick out tonguerogram files-bethesda softworks-legacy" and delete the folder named legacy-or what ever folder you installed to if you did custom. example vista "cstick out tonguerogram files (x86)- bethesda softworks-legacy"wink then after your done with that reinstall legacy and then patch it (if you want to) and then install the mod and what ever ships you may have and then play. i have found that if you install everything at once and without ever running the game that the game will run smoother i have tested this theory on 15 separate computers and the results have all bean the same. That's weird...try deleting the file db.pak in the game directory and/or downloading the mod again.

yes gdata i got the installer here and installed it on a clean install and niether does the aftermath mod work and when i uninstalled the aftermath mod it will only error so please help Reply asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This mod in my opinion is the best out their. i am wondering when will tb3 come out if their will be one also im having a problem in skimish where the mouse doesnt show up on ship sulect but if i escape its works again i dont know why.

Hey all, i got this mod last night and tried it on 4 clean installes (two with no patch, one with 1.2 and one slightly modded)

The splash screen to say the least, works wink

However the game keeps crashing and giving a debug error.

@240 & @244 You both appear to have corrupt downloads. I suggest deleting the file you downloaded and download it again and try.

This file has been downloaded many thousands of times so likely the file on the site is good, but sometimes you get a bad download due to connectivity issues just like any other large file. I've downloaded it atleast 2 times successfully since it was posted the other year.

As for the Forums... you do have to Post your problem there before your going to get a useful response... It's not a knowledge base with prewritten answers, it's a forum to openly ask for assistance..

Please don't think i'm an idiot or a noob but all downloads for this mod say "copy files into your Trek Battles 2 directory!" Thing is, i can't find the directory. No one else seems to have this problem so i'm hoping that its something i missed rather than a game fault. So, if its not too much bother, where exactly is the directory?

Anyone else getting the game freezing during the first Trek Battles mission, Enterprise Era? As soon as I scan the planet you warp to right at the beiginning, the view switches to a satellite with Starfleet Two written on the side and the captain says "Okay-" before being cut off, and the game freezing on the view of the satellite. The music continues, I get no error messages, and Task Manager tells me the game is running fine. Anyone else experience this? Any way around it?

...still, awseome mod, I'll just amuse myslef with the skirmish mode til it gets fixed smile yay Dominion!

I've found the problem. The first few goes I began scanning the planet BEFORE the objective screen pops up to tell you so, then I think it tried to pop up during the cut scene, obviously pausing the game while doing so, but as it was in a cut screen, I couldn't unpause it. Must learn to be patient I guess... this mod RULES!

The Alliance mod as far as I know contains just ships. I haven't used it in a while. It should, therefore be compatible. I heard some people claim that it worked, also. Nevertheless, its best to get the official answer from one of the NG lads.

I don't wanna step on any toes here but i have to say that i spent all last night and most of today downloading trek battles part 1 all the way through part 3 sampling each of them because i heard they were worth looking into. Let me tell you i wont ever waste that much time or downloading space again. I was dissapointed in the quality of some of the ships of how un-cannon they looked well some not all, but some just looked flat out like a toy instead realistic. I had to uninstall and reinstall my STL 4 times just to try it all out and it was for nothing. I found the UU Mod 1.0 more cannon as far as ships and excellent voiceovers Two Thumbs Up! Rock. But for Trek battles i cant say anything i like about it other than the TOS connie has lit up nacells like they should have stayed and some slight better explosions but other than that im just gonna stick with my UU with slight mods like ships and what not . i think its better personally and it won't CRASH on you! Aaargh!!!. Dont ban or flame me for my comment its just my opinion after sampling all 3 i found none of them to cannon. they outta make an "UU 3.0 Ultimate" that would be worth downloading IMO

I'm a doctor, not an engineer... how do I install this baby? I downloaded the file and, not knowing where to put it, placed it into the ST: Legacy folder. Then I try to open it, but nothing happens. So... I am stuck right from the get-go, lol...

Pk, so I saw that the installation file was missing the suffix of .exe so, after adding that, I was able to install the thing. Now I just want to play without the bug I encountered, so I guess I have to get some patches or something. Time to do more research...

1. legacy

3. Trek Battles 2

im wondering how do i access custom missions that i've made or for that matter find the ALL Missions in the campaign folder i cant find it anywhere in the game :/
