| STL Manager (2.1.0.9b) - File Description |
 |
Description:
This is the beta version of my tool called STL Manager. It can - like the first version - manage your STL Installs/Directories and it can also be used to launch the Map Editor. A new feature is the Custom Mission Feature. It allows the user to choose the ships for your enemy, ally and yourself in a battle, that can be launched via the game menu.
Since this is a beta version it is possible that this has still some bugs. If you want to report a bug you can e-mail me!
Note:
- For more information regarding the usage of the tool read the description and instructions in the readme.
- You need to have a mod with the enabled All Missions feature to play the custom mission. Some of these Mods are: Aftermath, Ultimate Universe, The Legendary Generations Mod, Trek Battles 2 and Keys of Legacy. You can download them on Legacy Files!

STL Manager 2.1.0.9b

Requirements: .NET Framework 3.5 and Mod with All Missions Feature

Description:
This is the beta version of my STL Manager. It does not have all the features the full version will have and might also have some bugs.
You can easily add a new Directory/install to your Configuration by clicking Add->Install. You can easily remove your install by using the Remove menu. The amount of installs you can add to your configuration is only limited by your HDD space!
How to use the Custom Mission feature:
The Custom Mission feature allows the user to create his own mission. Actually it is not a real mission, but you can choose your own ships, your ally's ships and your enemy's fleet. You can use all stock ships for this "mission", but it offers the possiblity to add new ships to your configuration either manually or automaticly. To add ships to the configuration manually you can click Add->Ships; there you can choose an odf, race and install to add it to and then it will be available in your custom mission. If you want to put it into a non-stock race you can add a race by clicking Add->Race. For those who are lazy there is another feature, which is unfortunately not entirely complete, that can add ships automaticly. Goto Advanced Configuration -> Import Ship Configuration and you can select a Mod to import the configuration from. At the moment it is only possible to import the Trek Battles 2 configuration, but later you'll be able to import the configuration from Aftermath, tiptop's models and other mods. There will be a feature in the full version that let's modders easily create a configuration for their mods, which you can download with the mod and easily import to your configuration.
There is also a Button in the Advanced Configuration menu that let's you reset your game for Multiplayer. It will delete all odf-files created by the Manager to avoid the message telling you that you do not have the same version your opponent has. I have not tried this out myself, but it should work (at least in theory). If you have filled 'Is Multiplayer Install' check-box when creating your install configuration there will be a red or green message in the status bar showing whether you need to restore the install for multiplayer or not!
FAQ:
Q: Nothing happens when I launch the game, but I configured my custom misson, before I hit the "Launch"-button!
A: You have to launch the mission via the in-game menu. Go to Campaign->All Missions and scroll down to launch the custom mission!
Q: I do not have the All Missions button in the campaign menu!
A: You need a mod enabling this button. For Example: Aftermath, Ultimate Universe, The Legendary Generations Mod, Keys of Legacy, Trek Battles 2
Q: I can only choose stock ships for the Custom Mission!
A: Since this utility is supposed to work with EVERY mod for Legacy only stock ships are in the original configuration; but you can add them via the Add->Ship or Import Ship Config. feature!

Please note that the idea of creating a custom mission is not completly my own. Muldrf from UUM develops a Tool with similar funcitonality for the Stage 2 of the Ultimate Universe Mod. So if you use UUM and Stage 2 is released you should use their tool, since it is optimized for UUM usage. The implementation of this program and the source code is my own.

If I had 2 free hours I might be able to make up a xml list for UU 1.0. No promises I'm primarily a family man not a modder so I don't get 2 free hours that often and it's alot of ships.. I think around 400 flyable... |
