Description:

Hey everyone, Phoenix brings us the TOS version of the Proxima Battleship. A variant of this ship is popularly seen in pieces as the JJ Enterprise warps into orbit of Vulcan. This variant however is all in one piece, and I must say it is a very cleanly modelled vessel.

First impressions are of a nice solid design with appropriate bussards and deflector dishes. The hull looks clean, however what strikes is a bit of a lack of specular mapping, this could be due to the map, or just perhaps they are a bit dull. Regardless the vessel still looks very appealing.

In combat you will find that even for a TOS vessel the Proxima is powerful, however very well balanced. While the discharge rate of the phasers is low, enabling you to broadside your enemy for long periods, the initial damage of the phasers is minimal. So a good strategy, despite being a battleship, is to, as Sisko would say, "Swing for the fences".

The hardpoints are very well placed, and you can define each phaser array on the saucer very easily, which it a brings a little smile to my face, as its a little detail missed out on occasion.

All in all this ship does what it says on the tin, its a battleship through and through, and while aestetically there could be improvements made. She is a fine vessel for your armada.

This is Phoenix's take on the TOS Proxima design that was included with stock Legacy. It's a scratch built model with new textures. The Model and Textures were done by Phoenix and the porting work was done by Muldrf. This version is setup for use with Ultimate Universe 2.0 and will share the same bussards as Moonraker's existing models. For people playing Stock Legacy or other mods go grab the Stock Compatible version that is also released today.

	Readme File: Quick Summary ------------- Thank you for downloading this model. This model is a high poly recreation of the TOS Proxima seen in Stock Legacy. Once again, Thanks for downloading one of my ships Phoenix "Tim Bondi" Credits ------------- Textures : Phoenix Mesh : Phoenix HardPoints : Muldrf Registries: Muldrf Bump's & Specs : Muldrf Requirements ----------------- Ultimate Universe 2.0 Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 to execute the Installer. Technical Details ----------------- Tested with UU2.0. This version is only intended to be used with UU2.0. It "might" work on UU1.5, but I don't think it will work with UU1.0 at all. For other mods such as TB, AM etc download the "Stock Compatible" version. Known Bugs ---------- None Install instructions -------------------- This Mod is packed with Muldrf's ModInstaller tool. Option 1: Install the mod. Run the SelfInstaller exe file from the package you downloaded. When it opens pick the proper Legacy directory to install to. Then select the Race you want to add the ship to. It will default to "Federation". Finally press the "Install" button. It's that simple. Option 2: Extract the mod. If you pick to extract the mod to a folder that does not contain Legacy.exe it will extract the mod and some setting xml files that contain installation data. This is for manual installation if you prefer it.
