Description:
Okay this is the fourth mod for today and this time it's something we don't see here very often: a mission. This includes three existing mods, the Scimitar, the Deathmatch Script and the Norexan class. These have been put together to a nice Nemesis mission, which does not have any scripted events or stuff like that, but that's something acceptable, since a semi-scripted mission is better than no mission at all.

All you need is the Community Mod or any other mod that enables mission selection in Legacy. And don't hesitate to download this, the installation might sound complicated, but it's worth the effort.

Hi folks, welcome to the final battle from Star Trek Nemesis. This is my first ever upload to this site, so please be gentle!

It is not 100% cannon, but I have tried to get it as near as I can. Thanks to NEW_GEN we even have the Norexan warbirds in the Bassen rift. This will install a modified retextured Sovereign class into legacy, but it will not replace the stock one, so it wont screw up the game. This ship is more powerful than the stock sovereign and has greater firepower. As for the Scimitar, thats something else, it will give you a run for your money! Far more powerful than before, it is an upgraded version of tigerus's Scimitar Mc1, it now has 27 photon bays and upgraded shields, beware!!


INSTALLATION

As I stated above, you need Community Mod 0.4, for this to work.
Make sure you rename the file 'db_pak' to 'db_pakBACKUP' In each of the folders contained in this mod, I have named them all so they correspond with the files in LEGACY.

The four files contained within the 'missions' folder in this mod need putting into the 'missions folder in LEGACY.
Open 'NG_Norexan4.0_pack" install all files in the corresponding locations in LEGACY
put the image 'sovvie1' into campaign>legacy
place the contents of 'Objectives' folder in Legacy>objectives
place the Sol file 'Bassen' into Legacy>sol
Open 'Sovereign refit' place all files in the correct locations
do the same with 'scimitar_mc1'

now for the difficult part!

open the Campaign folder in LEGACY
if you have installed 'community mod 0.4' drag the file 'historical battles' to your desktop.
open the file to view the text
right click on the text, a pop up window will appear, click on 'view source' a text box will appear.

directly below the lines

copy and paste these lines:

<STNEMESIS file="Bassen.sol" date="2380" image="sovvie1" hero="F_Enterprise_E1.odf" numShips="0" skipPoints="3500" freeCPs="0"/>

make sure </ShellSettings> is on the next line down.

save the file, then drag the 'Historical Battles' file back over to "Legacy'

and lastly

follow the same steps outlined above locate the file 'LabelMap_EnXML'

view source, as we did before, locate the line:

<Entry id="mission_selectSTL35.sol">Logical Conclusions </Entry>

directly below it copy and paste:

<Entry id="mission_selectBassen.sol">STNemesis </Entry>

save the file place the folder back in Legacy. Thats it were done!

This is a work in progress, there may be an updated version soon, Im new to this, havent quite got to terms with scripting yet. having played it myself, I think it needs more work.

I think I may have made the Enterprise E a bit overpowered, I am thinking of posting a replacement Enterprise, powered down slightly, which will fire the phasers in short bursts like we see in the movie, what do you think?

It's good to see missions being created rather than just maps, and this is an interesting combination package I've not seen anything quite like it before. If you want some tips on mission scripting I might be able to help out getting you up to speed a bit. Also I could repack it with the ModInstaller for you if your interested.

Thank you, I am unsure about Mission Scripting, I have not been at this for very long, started off just changing a few odf files a couple of months ago and it has escalated from there, the wife never sees me now!

Took this vessel up against the Scimitar in a skirmish level, the Scimitar made short work of it! The phasers aren't powerful enough, if you are going to have the phasers fire short bursts, you need to change the damage they inflict like I did with the Sovereign Refit I posted a few days ago, otherwise they dont do any damage. Apart from that it is an excellent mod! cool

I have made this mod so that it wont replace any of the Stock ships in Legacy, not sure if it will work with UU, I have never tried UU, although I cant see any reason why It wouldnt work.

I copied all the files into the correct subfolders of the Legacy folder, made the changes you describe in the readme, but everytime I want to start the mission, Legacy crashes.

I must appologise sincerely, I included the wrong map file with the Nemesis mission, that is why it wont work! I am uploading the correct file as we speak, I am truly sorry.
