Description:

This is a very interesting piece of modding. Although the name FreeCam would suggest that it is a fully functioning camera that allows free angles and movement of camera shots, it is best described as a HUD disabling addon. So far it will only disable the HUD interface once, to get that all elusive PotD shot... However the faux pas with this mod is it will disable certain controls so it will make it difficult for the player to control their current ship. There are other methods of achieving the HUD to be disabled but if you are a keen PotD creator like myself then you will sacrifice gameplay for the perfect screenshots..As always make a backup of the original files so you can return to the original gameplay when you are finished with the PotDs. Worth a download if you really want to get some clean and HUD-less PotDs.

	Readme File: //ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS A big thanks to ChessMess. I had been looking for something like this for awhile. When he told me the developers used a 'Freecam' it made it a lot easier to find since I knew what I was looking for. This is not the fully functioning camera that the developers used to take their screenshots. So far it will only disable the interface once. Also, it will disable certain controls so it will make it difficult for you to control your ships. If you want to play the game without the interface then check the various forums and websites to see how others have removed the HUD. Hopefully a future patch or mod will enable the camera features that were used during development. //INSTALLATION The folder/file structure should be self explanatory. Just in case..... Place Dynamic_Localized_Strings_EN.xml in \Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Star Trek Legacy and ingameoptions.xml into \Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Star Trek Legacy\ui As far as I know changes made to the .xml files will still allow you to play online. It is hard for me to test since I have been unable to play online, even with an un-modified copy of the game. You can find the original files in the backup file. //USE To use the FreeCam hit Escape where you will find it in the menu. When you hit Escape the game will pause. The "Game Paused" text has been removed from the game so if you want to pause/un-pause the game use Pause/Break on your keyboard. It is probably best to use this for taking screenshots. During battles hit pause and look around to see if the battle will make a good screenshot. If it is then you can use the FreeCam option to remove the HUD. Once you resume the game you will no longer be able to use the FreeCam until you create another game. When you enable the FreeCam it will postition itself away from any ships. One way I have found to get it back to a ship is to hit 'Q'. When you un-pause the game it will intiate warp so hit 'Q' again. If you press 'E' once you will then be able to use the 'F' key to set a course. You can select all your ships '5' but you will not be able to set a target. Your ships will fire automatically as long as you don't take command of them. I hope you find this useful until something better comes along. - Trickster.

lets say i blew the crap out of a ship and i want to see it go kaboom without the hud in the way. after i blow it up can i turn the hud back on to focus on the other ship?
