Federation Mobile Weapons Platform (v1.5) - File Description

Description:
Is it better to be feared or respected? I say, is it too much to ask for both?

For your consideration....The Federation Mobile Weapons Platform:

After the fourth Borg incursion into Federation space, the Starfleet Corps of Engineering began deveoping a way to create a offense/defense system using standard Federation Turrets. After six months of development, the Federation Mobile Weapons Platform was created. Completely re-designed to withstand strucual breakdown while in warp, and to become the newest weapon against the Borg.

The Mobile Weapons Platform was built with a completely smaller warp core you'd normally find in on Nebula and Galaxy class starships. They were also fitted with a tractor beam array; for those easy capture missions, brand new Type XIV phasers and Type IV Pulse fire Quantum torpedoes. They were also given a brand new AI system, or for some, called the next genereration M5 computer.

Each Starbase in every Federation sector were allowed to create four of these MWP's. During an Borg incursion into Klingon Space two a fleet carrying 2 Tactical Cubes and 6 Borg Spheres, Starbase Oasis dispatched four MWP's assist the Klingon Defense Forces. They arrived in less than 1 hour traveling at Warp 8. The MWP's were able to destroy or disable all invading Borg ships in less than 30 minutes.

It had been rumored that the Klingon Defense Forces and the Romulan Navy are also developing MWP's of their own, but that rumor has been greatly decredited by both governments. By 2395, The MWP's were assigned to border the Romulan Neutral Zone until a new treaty was estabished between the two goverments. Thus lifting the ban on Federation Cloaking Devices, a treaty was put in place, prohibiting any type
of Cloaking Devices in Federation MWP's, except in times of war.

They can be fitted with any up-to-date Federation weapon, such as:

- Quantum Phasers
- Phased Plasma Torpedoes
- Quantum Torpedos
- Rapid-Fire Pulse Cannons
- Quantum Pulse Cannons
- Standard Federation Photon Torpedos
_ Quantum Torpedos
- Tri-Cobolt Devices

Well, I know where you got this from.

"Is it better to be feared or respected? I say, is it too much to ask for both?

For your consideration..."

I think this makes for a great discription.

I think if you had added "They say, the best weapon is the one you never have to fire. I respectfuly disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once." Between "Is it better to be feared or respected? I say, is it too much to ask for both? For your consideration..." It would have been even better. But its OK the way it is. No offence intended.
