Constellation Battle Class (v1.0) - File Description

NOTE: This file has become outdated and there's a newer / better version available.
You can still get this file but we suggest you have a look at the NEW / UPDATED VERSION first!

This Constellation Class ship version is upgraded to the TNG era. This ship albeit a bit antiqudated in design is well able to mix it with the big-guns of the TNG era and certainly will hold it's own against some TNG era ships. This upgrade includes TNG phasers and Quantum Torpedoes with modifications done to the Hull, engines and shields.

jenislittlebro's Constellation Battle Class v1.0

This is my first mod, please be gentle.

This is basically just a tng upgraded Constellation Class Ship, I've always
loved the Constellation class ships, and i wanted one to better hold up in the tng era.
This isn't one of those super invincible ships that will destroy everything in its path,
just a highly upgraded Constellation to better hold its own against other tng era ships,
enjoy :)

I'm planning on doing some more work with it, perhaps even changing the textures a
bit to make it look more like a tng era hull, kind of like the sovergien color, but as i
said, i'm new to this modding, so i might need some help down here and there, and i'm
open to any thoughts/ideas.

She has tng phasers, forward Quantum Torpedoes, and Aft tng photons,
as well as a heavily upgraded Hull, Shields, Sensors, Weapons, & Engines.

if you have any questions/thoughts email me at jenislittlebro@yahoo.com

Open the Star Trek Legacy Folder, it can be found
in: My Computer/c:/programfiles/BethesdaSoftworks/StarTrekLegacy

All of the .dds files go into:

The Md3 file goes into the Md3 folder

F_Constellation_battlec.odf goes into:

fed_tng_phaser_9beam.odf goes into:

fed_tng_photon_quantu1.odf goes into:

All files are mods of the original in-game files, so credit would go to Bethesda Softworks and Me.
if you plan on using this somewhere else, or modding, or anything like that, i'm all for it, as long as
you ask and proper credit is givin.

No offense, but how come everyone puts quantums on their refits? I wouldn't expect them to be standard issue on anything but the most advanced ships, nor would they be likely to be refitted to older vessels...

I like the upgrade, this was always a favorite of mine as well, this and the Ambassator

@2 while Quantums probably would not be refitted on older ships, it is easy enough to remove them and put photons on there with odf.

I personally think the refit is great. I agree that quantum should not be used in every upgrade. The ship plays well and seems compatable with everything on my version of Legacy. Great work on this ship......... Rock

Begging your pardon gentlemen, but I think you are mistaken. The quantum torpedoes were a result of needing better firepower against the Borg. As far as them being equipped on every refit, after nearly getting whooped by the Borg, Starfleet would equip them on every refit after that point. Besides a serious refit isn't necessary because they're just torpedoes. The only change was inside the torpedo itself. Now if this refit was done before the Borg incursions, then it wouldn't have the quantum torpedoes. It's a question of timing, early TNG versus later TNG. Personally, I think after getting their butts kicked in almost every Borg battle, they'd slap Quantums on everything that moves.

I'm just waiting for the Federation to wake up and create randomly remodulating phasers.

@5: Quantums are supposed to be more expensive and therefore less cost-effective than equipping photon torpedoes. That's why even though Starfleet already had quantums before the Dominion War and before the Borg attacked Earth in First Contact, only the Enterprise E, Defiant, and perhaps a few other capital ships actually had quantums.

#6, I totally agree. The feds only issued the more expensive (or it should be said, harder to make torpedoes, on account of money being of no issue in the 24th centuary) torpedoes in larger capital ships because they would be present in the larger battles and require the cutting edge weaponary. Scouts and smaller cruisers were only outfitted with photon torpedoes because hey weren't as involved in the heavy fighting, photon torpedoes would be sufficient for those ships in patrolling type roles.

Oh and nice looking ship. A heavier version of the constellation class is a good and realistic idea.
