Description:

This 12 pack of 700x525 res screenshots depict many of the major ships, most of which look atleast decent all the way to way cool. Featured in this pack is the AKira, Constelation, Consitution refit, Borg Cube, Defiant, Excelcior, Galaxy, Intrepid, NX class, Sov, Vorcha, and warbird. I must say perhaps the Warbirds and borg cube are the most stunning. The warbird does not appear to be 100% acurate to canon, but then again it could be a Dderidex class that has been upgraded or modified. The Cube looks alot like BoBW, however the green lights look a bit tacy. We all know they were orangish lights in that ep, but that ought to be easy enough for a modder to fix. Considering that these are stock models, and considering the stock models from past games, there is a defeneite improvement here. The modders still got better toys, but atleast the stock ships wont make ya barf.

About the lights: If you look closely in both BOBW and Q:Who?, there is some green lights there, equally many as seen in F.ex FC, only that that in FC they deleted the orange light.

Great screenshots, by the way.

THE GALAXY IS JUST BIZZARE!!! I'ts got more windows then the Sov, isnt the sov the bigger vessel? I mean the galaxy has more windows then actual hull!! messed up. waaaaaay messed up. Advance praise and thanx to the dedeicated and hardworking modders who are ready to clean up Bethsoft's ugly mess.

A galaxy class is bigger deck-wise, but the sovereign is longer than a galaxy. It looks like all the windows are lit up, but I agree, the galaxy and part of the sovereign look a bit sketchy to me.

the borg is very detailed. but the galaxy is a little lacking the bridge "module" isnt textured very well and there are waaay to many windows on the saucer section. but all in all they are very good looking ships. the borg cube is my favorite. XD

Guys, it has exactly the right amount of windows. There's nothing wrong with this model other than the untextured bridge module. Don't you know, the Galaxy is a giant ship - much bigger than the Sovereign in terms of internal volume. The Sovereign is just a slight bit longer, but no where near as wide or tall as the Galaxy.

Again, they have the right number of windows, its just that they're all lit up in this render.

I've looked at the original studio model of the Galaxy Class. Even though not all the windows were lit on the Galaxy Class, you could still see them. They added windows on the Galaxy Class model where there were no windows originally on the Galaxy Class.

Even if all the windows were lit on the Galaxy Class ship, it would not look as crowded as it does in that model. Check the SNS Galaxy at BCFiles. It's one of the most canon models of the Galaxy Class. The Galaxy Class in Legacy doesn't look anything like the SNS Galaxy, or the original studio model. Plus all the windows on all the Federation ships are too big. Way too big. Which adds to the illusion that they look more cluttered than they really are.

The Sovereign's not modeled correctly anyway. If you look at the nacelles, the dorsal (top) sides of them are flat. Now look at First Contact, Insurrection, or Nemesis. It's not supposed to look like that.

The rest of the Federation ships each have their own inaccuracies, but I went into large detail about them at legacyuniverse.net, if you want to check them out.

The Borg Cube is definitely from BoBW, but the glows are designed to match those seen in Star Trek: Voyager, in which all the Borg vessels only had green lights; no yellow (whoever thought they were orange needs to get an eye exam done...) lights were included in Borg ships since TNG.

And finally, the review for this file needs to be edited. Aside from some major spelling mistakes, some of the commentary, particularly the last statement, is a bit inappropriate and unprofessional for a FileFront site.
